Our Story

A few years ago, we were introduced to mason jar salads and it changed the way we eat. No matter how busy we were, the jars saved us from eating junk. Even if we only had 5-minutes to spare that was plenty of time to eat a jar salad. Then, a funny thing happened...the more salads we ate, the better we felt. We were hooked. So we started making jar salads for our friends and neighbors, and that's how The Simple Jar was born.

 Our mission is to make it simple for people eat well.

Even if you're time-starved and hungry, you shouldn't have to trade-off health for convenience. So with a little meal prep help from us, we know we can help you feel better. Just like we did.

Our Principles 

  • Eating plant-based. Whether you're vegan or just trying to eat better, the truth is we can all benefit from eating more plant-based meals. But making veggies taste good can be hard and time consuming. So we make it easy to have a few more plant-based meals a week. It's not revolutionary. It's simple.
  • Achieving zero waste. We can all do more to care for our planet. But the packaging waste associated with meal delivery services is hard to stomach. So we brought back a milkman-style delivery system to reuse as much as we can. Even though its extra work to pick up and triple wash all of our jars, coolers and ice-packs, we've saved over 22,000 containers from going into landfills in a year and half. Just imagine how much we'll save in the next few years.
  • Keeping it accessible. Eating healthy food shouldn't be a luxury. But many people don't have the time or money to eat 5 daily servings of fruits and vegetables. We strive to keep our service as easy and affordable as possible. 
We can attest to the saying that "you are what you eat." Feeling better starts with what you put in your body, and we're here to help make that simple.
